How To Mark Payroll Categories As Pensionable

This article explains how to assign payroll categories as pensionable within the payroll system. Marking a category as pensionable ensures that any amounts calculated under that category are included when determining an employee’s pensionable income. This is important for accurate pension calculations and helps ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
Payroll Categories
The first step of this process would be to add earnings categories via the income or hourly wage categories pages.
If the category already exists, move to the next step.
From the main menu, navigate to Settings > Payroll > Payroll Categories. Based on the earnings category type, choose either the income or hourly wage categories page and setup the category as needed.

Mark Categories As Pensionable
Use the pencil icon relating to the appropriate category to edit it:
In the "other" options section within the edit page screen, choose "pensionable income" if you are editing an income category, or "pensionable" if you are in the hourly categories page:
Ensure to click save/update to lock in your changes.
